Nice, France: when visiting Nice, make sure you go to a park called Castle Hill, or as it used to be known, the Castle of Nice. A citadel used for military purposes from the 11th to 18th century. It is spectacular overlooking the bay of Nice. Getting to the top can be a challenge as there doesn’t appear to be a way up unless you take the steep winding stairs but never fear. There is a FREE LIFT. You just need to find it. It’s hidden away at the foot of the cliff on the Nice bag side, not the Harbour side. It’s not well signposted but poke around there. You will find it and it’s worth it.
